The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), on Wednesday, lauded Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesi for his steadfastness and exemplary commitment to the welfare of Nigerian students and former student leaders.
Comrade Adejuwon Emmanuel, the Assistant Secretary General of NANS Headquarters, gave the commendation in a statement made available to newsmen.
Adejuwon stated, “His 2025 Students Community Support Initiative, backed by his personal allocation of One Hundred Million Naira, is yet another testament to his unwavering loyalty and selfless service to the student movement.
“Since 2017, Barr. Olajengbesi has continued to impact lives through consistent financial and moral support for student-centred causes, including tuition contributions for Nigerian Law School students, funding for postgraduate studies abroad, startup grants for former student leaders, and medical assistance for those in urgent need.
“His contributions also extend to professional and institutional support for lawyers, law students, and associations such as LAWSAN.”
Let it be clearly stated: Nigerian students are solidly with him. As a former Student Union President and a leader who has never abandoned his roots, Barr. Pelumi remains one of us.”
NANS acknowledged Barrister Olajengbesi not just as a legal practitioner of repute and philanthropist, but as a genuine product of the student struggle whose actions have continued to inspire and uplift.
The apex students’ body pledged that it remained supportive of his aspiration to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in Osun State.
“We will not leave him because he has never left us. His journey is our journey, and his aspirations are in line with the kind of leadership the Nigerian youth and student community deserve.
“We call on other former student leaders, stakeholders, and the general public to take a cue from Barr. Pelumi’s model of consistent, purposeful engagement with the grassroots, “NANS pleaded.
