In a show of unwavering support for the re-election of His Excellency, Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, through the Imole Grassroots Network, launched a vital initiative today aimed at empowering women in the grassroots.
The initiative, held in Ipetu Ijesa, provided ₦5 million in support to 250 women across Wards 9 and 10 of Oriade Local Government.
The pilot was celebrated with great enthusiasm, featuring a funfair atmosphere as members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and supporters of Governor Adeleke gathered to commemorate this significant occasion.
As part of the day's events, Barrister Olajengbesi paid a courtesy visit to HRM Oba Agunbiade Adeleke, the Ajalaye of Ipetu Ijesa, at his royal palace.
The monarch, accompanied by his chiefs, welcomed Barrister Olajengbesi and offered prayers for the continued success of Governor Adeleke’s administration.
During his address at the event, Barrister Olajengbesi expressed gratitude to party faithful for their steadfast support of Governor Adeleke’s administration. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in ensuring that grassroots communities feel truly involved in the governance process and that the dividends of democracy reach all levels of society.
“I brought this initiative to reassure our grassroots that they are genuinely part of this administration. It is imperative that they experience tangible benefits from our governance,” he stated.
He extended his appreciation to all party leadership and stakeholders present for their unwavering commitment to supporting the party and the government, especially during this critical period.
Barrister Olajengbesi commended Governor Adeleke for his tireless efforts in ensuring that his government’s presence is felt in every nook and cranny of Osun State. He acknowledged the significant strides made in infrastructural development and the overall impact of people-oriented initiatives on citizens' lives.
Importantly, Barrister Olajengbesi announced that these initiatives would also take place in all 22 wards of Oriade Local Government and Obokun Local Government, with the program expected to commence in batches to ensure maximum outreach and impact.
